Shoot with model Jo
Recently I had a chance to do a model shoot with the beautiful Jo.
Assisted with makeup by my go to makeup artist zoey.
The shoot consisted of a part outside shoot part indoors in my studio area I use.
The outdoor shoot was a beach shoot under the pier local to me it allowed for some very cool fashion pics.
With the addition of a beautiful sunset made for a good shoot.
From there we went from the beach to my shooting space which is located in a nightclub under a local pub near Blackpool in st.annes.
Kit wise consisted of:
3x strobes
2x mains powered strobe units
My Sony a450
Aputure wireless triggers
Smoke machine
2x umbrellas
And a bunch of gels

Boxing shoot
Now I am not in any way a sport shooter but recently I had a shoot at a gym in Blackpool to shoot with some boxers.
The gym is quite small and dominated by two boxing rings with a room to the side for warming up in.
the lighting in the gym consists of strip lighting and was quite bright but not really adequate for what i wanted
The settings that allowed for available light shooting were 1/80th second at iso 1600 at F5
this worked well for the most part in the training areas but i wanted a more high quality output for the sparing sessions knowing that some of the pictures were to be used for promotional and posters.
luckily being prepaired i had 2 light stands 2 flashes and 3 aputure radio triggers in the bag so i decided to use them
the flashes were placed one on each corner of each ring at 16th power which at iso800 gave me a nice clean file and coverage of half the ring
so rather than treating it like a sport shoot i treated it like a evolving portrait shoot here are the results more in the gallery
shoot for a local makeup artist
had a shoot for a local makeup artists portfolio
the general brief was for a disco style shoot along with some general portraits as well
so i arranged to take over a local nightclub for the day.
i like to shoot there as it gives me much space to play with diferent backrounds and toys
the shoot was with 5 models of varying ages
kit list included
2x mains powered strobes
3x speedlights
4x light stands
2x dual layered umbrellas
smoke machine
multiple coloured gels for the strobes
settings for the day were varied from F5-F22 at 1/160th at iso200
the shoot was fun and the day was good more pics to be found at jcp photography
Child portrait session
a repeat customer and friend of mine recently booked me to do some more pictures so to shake things up i thought i would add a splash of colour.
it was a good excuse to use my new collapsible backround
any way
settings were F11 at 1/160 at iso200
3 strobe setup 2 in front through shoot through and one behind with various coloured gels on
